Useful Information for Dublin CA
Dublin, CA dates back to 1772 when an early explorer searched for an overland route to San Francisco Bay (then called Drake's Bay). The return journey brought the explorer back to the Amador Valley.
Actual settlements by Europeans did not begin until 1850, when two immigrants arrived from Ireland. They purchased 1,000 acres of land, which led to more settlers arriving and building homes for their families.
As was typical in those early days, homes were quickly followed by a schoolhouse, a church, hotels, a store, a blacksmith shop and a cobbler.
Dublin today is part of the rapidly expanding Tri-Valley (along with Pleasanton, San Ramon and Livermore) and has become a center for business parks housing some of the world's largest companies.
